To help ease minds of people properly concerned how provincial Covid-19 guidelines will affect the appraisal process, we have developed policies to address the issue. We hope it allays any worries and would be happy to discuss specific concerns clients may be facing. Call 780-987-5787 with any questions you may have regarding residential valuation services and how we can help during this challenging time.
We Get It
Aura’s agents, Judy and Terry Beler both have many years experience in the industry and recognize it may be uncomfortable for some to allow a stranger in their home during the on-site visit at this time. Although an interior inspection has been a requirement in the past for any proper appraisal to withstand legal scrutiny, new guidelines from the Appraisal Institute of Canada provide alternatives to an interior inspection using previous work files and online historical data. Therefore, going forward, Aura agents will take advantage of the new “Hypothetical Condition and Critical Assumptions” option from major lending institutions which waive the interior inspection requirement aspect.
Aura’s fully-licensed agents will make the visit as safety-conscious as possible. At each house, we wear a new pair of disposable gloves and observe safe distance rules to minimize contact. (We already miss shaking hands with our clients and meeting their kids and critters!)
We also commit to these policies:
• Take personal precautions when not on the job, as set out by provincial guidelines, to maintain our agents’ good health.
• Work with every client to satisfy any unique issues or considerations they may have.
• Keep helping people fulfill the appraisal requirement required by most mortgage lenders, and other vital purposes, for as long as we are allowed to do so during this unprecedented time. where they are.
